Looking Forward to Convention of the Egyptian- Algerian Joint Committee

The Minister of International Cooperation Dr. Sahar Nasr received the Algerian Ambassador to Egypt Mr. Nazir Al-Arabawy to discuss the means of enhancing bilateral economic relations.

In her capacity as the head of the Egyptian- Algerian Joint Committee, the Minister commended bilateral relations, coordination, and follow-up between both countries.

The Minister discussed all problems relating to Egyptian companies working in the Algerian market as well as the means of overcoming obstacles facing such companies. She also emphasized the importance of facilitating trade between both countries through eliminating tariff and non-tariff barriers that negatively affect the volume of trade, stating her keenness to boost relevant investments.

Out of her keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation in all economic fields, Dr. Nasr emphasized the significance of the entry into force of the 10 documents signed between both countries during the 7th session of the joint higher committee, given that such documents include cooperation between both countries in the fields of training, employment, tourism, industrial zones, culture, youth, sports, stock market.

Further, the Minister emphasized the necessity to hold the joint follow-up committee in order to follow up on achievements of the committee's 7th session held in Cairo, besides the importance of activating the joint Egyptian- Algerian Business Council.

For his part, Mr. Al-Arabawy commended Egyptian efforts, in general, and MOIC's efforts, in particular, in following up on achievements of the said session, indicating his keenness on coordination for holding the joint follow-up committee soon.
