The Minister of International Cooperation Dr. Sahar Nasr received the Kazakhstani Ambassador to Egypt Mr.  Berik Aryn to discuss the final preparations for the convention of the fifth session of the Egyptian Kazakhstani Joint Commission.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister commended economic and development cooperation relations between both countries, crowned by President el-Sisi’s latest visit to Kazakhstan last February, noting that such relations took the form of true partnership to boost inclusive economic development between both countries.
Dr. Nasr agreed with the Ambassador on the convention of the fifth session of the Egyptian Kazakhstani Joint Commission for Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation in Egypt at the end of December 2016. It is worth noting that the Joint Commission had not convened since 2007 while this round was to address activating cooperation in several attainable fields that would leave a notable positive developmental impact.
During the meeting, both officials spoke of the promising fields of cooperation between both countries in light of the competitive advantages of each, especially petroleum and wheat for Kazakhstan and pharmaceuticals on the Egyptian side. Fields beneficial to Egypt through exportation or importation were also addressed, as well as cooperation opportunities and the significance of taking advantage of them to realize joint benefit for the peoples of both countries.
Both officials also addressed finalizing the renovation works of Al-Zahir Baybars Mosque. It was agreed that the Kazakhstani Ambassador would visit the Mosque in presence of representatives from the Ministries of International Cooperation and Antiquities to follow up on the progress.
