Lebanese Prime Minister Praises ‘Abu-Ghazaleh Global’ Role in Supporting National Economy

BEIRUT –  HE Dr. Hassan Diab, Prime Minister of Lebanon, received in his office Mr. Burhan Al Ashkar, executive director of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global). Al Ashkar conveyed to the Prime Minister an oral message from HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of TAG.Global, that addressed the economic conditions the country and the world are currently experiencing.

Mr. Al Ashkar briefed Mr. Diab on the steps taken by TAG.Global for years in its process of digital transformation, as well as its leadership in the region especially for designing and manufacturing smart devices including laptops and tablets under its own brand name for the first time in the Arab region.

Furthermore, Al Ashkar underlined TAG.Global’s role in serving the national economy, noting that TAG.Global Lebanon office continued its operations in the country since its establishment in 1972 without any interruption. In addition, he praised on behalf of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, the professional handling  and competence of Dr. Diab’s cabinet.

He added that the economic crisis Lebanon is experiencing requires the cooperation of all sectors to work together to get out of this crisis and to achieve the aspirations of the Lebanese people who pin their hopes on this government's achievements.

He also expressed TAG.Global’s readiness to support the government's strategies and projects in various fields, stressing the importance of cooperation and partnership between the public and the private sectors to alleviate the economic and living hardships in Lebanon.

For his part, Prime Minister Diab welcomed the proactive steps taken by TAG.Global, praising Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh as one of most prominent economists and knowledge personalities in the Arab region and the world.

Diab also referred to the challenges the government is facing since its formation due to the financial and economic crisis in addition to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis and the rise of the number of affected people lately.

Diab explained the  steps taken by the government to reduce the burdens of living costs on citizens, pointing to the important role of the private sector in confronting the challenge.
