Under the patronage of Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship ‘Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum’ Hosts Winners Announcement Ceremony of ‘Entro for Kids’ Contest

AMMAN – Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum (TAG-KF), a member of Talal Abu-Ghazlaeh Global (TAG.Global), hosted the winners announcement ceremony of ‘2020 Entro for Kids’ contest under the patronage of HE Eng. Mothanna Gharaibeh, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, through live streaming on the Forum’s Facebook page.
The ceremony of the 10 winning projects was attended by partners of ‘Entro for Kids’ program including Dr. Mohammad Al-Shaar, Director of the Vocational Education at the Ministry of Education, Eng. Ismail Haqqi, TechWorks Manager – one of Crown Prince Foundation’s initiatives, and Ms. Samar Obeidat, founder and CEO at ‘Entro Gate’.
In his speech Minister Gharaibeh, underlined the need to invest in innovation and startups, praising the role of youth and entrepreneurial students in lunching such goal-oriented initiatives.
Furthermore, Gharaibeh stated that entrepreneurship is a culture that starts from the school, expressing his pride in ‘Entro for Kids’ program and its role in training new generations on the concept of entrepreneurship.
‘Entro Gate’ CEO, Ms. Obeidat, said that the 10 winners out of the 19 qualified entrepreneurial projects were selected by a specialized distinguished jury based on specific standards and criteria from public and private sectors in seven governorates. The 19 participating projects were chosen out of 3000 students who entered the competition in various sectors including health, environment, education, entertainment and gaming industry.
TAG.Global awarded the top three winners with various prizes including TAGITOP devices; meanwhile, “Alefredo Books” presented a collection of books to the top 10 projects.
It is worth mentioning that the winning projects will be hosted online for 4-6 months by ‘Entro Gate’ Incubator, to provide them with the required expertise and guidance to develop their projects of all aspects.
For his part, Dr. Al Shaar highlighted the importance and role of this initiative in discovering and developing students’ capacities, noting that it falls in line with the Ministry of Education’s objectives in promoting the culture of entrepreneurship and creativity among students, and it keeps pace with current revolution in the technological field.
On the other hand, Eng. Haqqi stressed the importance of ‘Entro Gate’ initiative and providing it with the necessary support, noting that TechWorks has conducted field visits and workshops to 10 schools in seven governorates where more than 170,000 students took part in training on design thinking and digital manufacturing that introduced them to the applications of digital manufacturing and how to turn ideas into entrepreneurial projects.
‘Entro for Kids’ program’, which was launched at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum (TAG-KF) in 2019, targets school students aged at 14-18 years old, in the northern, central and southern regions of Jordan, supported by the King Abdullah II Center for Excellence, Umniah's Business Incubator, TechWorks, Crown Prince Foundation and TAG-KF.
