Abu-Ghazaleh Commends Saudi Experience in Shifting towards E-learning

AMMAN - HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman of the Arab Organization for Quality Assurance in Education (AROQA), member of UNESCO Regional Center of Quality and Excellence in Education (RCQE) in Saudi Arabia, commended the ability of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in shifting completely towards e-education at all levels, including the provision of multiple learning resources to respond to changes imposed by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
In a statement to Saudi Press Agency, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stressed that the Government of Saudi Arabia succeeded in turning challenges into opportunities in the field of education, through prior planning to mitigate the impact of Coronavirus pandemic on the education sector and students, in addition to developing the ‘Madrasati’ Platform equipped with full services and evaluation tools in accordance with the e-learning quality standards, as well as enabling teachers to conduct and monitor exams to ensure their results.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh also stated that the reason behind the e-learning and distance learning success in Saudi Arabia was the clarity of vision of the Saudi Ministry of Education, and the introduction of clear standards for e-learning that include the institutions and the programs delivered to achieve interaction and fairness, as well as easy access to learning sources and clear evaluation mechanisms. In this regard he referred to the efforts of the National e-Learning Center in introducing regulations and quality standards in e-learning in the Saudi Kingdom.
Further, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh noted that the Arab nation is bound to create new types of learning to keep pace with global changes, as well as to empower students with the skills imposed by the latest advancements of the current Century such as Artificial Intelligence, digital learning and innovation, calling on all decision-makers in the Arab countries to study the experience of Saudi Arabia and the elements of its success.
